Postershop alters the data because by the time you read the %'s your file
has gone though 2 profiles including the conversion from whatever color
space your file started as. Even though you haven't processed the file it
has already looked into your job profiles settings and shows you the result.
If your monitor is profiled, your on screen representation will be that much
closer to final output. Ripping the file only makes those changes semi
perminent. If you chose 'no profiles selected' in the CMYK/RGB input side
you only get linearization/ink limit settings (mistakenly called profiles by
Postershop or not as we understand profiles to be). Also, you can try the
Pure Solid Color buttons next to the profile lists in the ICC Profile setup
window.
I believe that the profiles are doing their job in trying to simulate 100%
swop cyan with the available ink/paper combination from the 10000. IOW to
match or get close to the Lab numbers for swop cyan the profiles you made
are adjusting to98% and 1.24%. An extreme example of this is with my
Arizona 500 (please anybody else on this list use this machine write to me).
I had a file with just cyan and magenta solid color in it. It matched swop
magenta with 88%M and 39%Y, cyan had similar drastic numbers. That's how
far the off swop the inks are.
