getting tarred with the anti-Gretag Macbeth brush. What exasperates me is
the
strategic diplomacy of consultants shouting "there's nothing wrong" up front
while Gretag Macbeth quietly fixes the various issues out back. Its okay for
the EyeOne to have issues and limitations... we don't need to pretend its
God's answer to color managment; it will do quite well in the marketplace
without that.<<
Interesting that the UV issue comes up frequently and lasts so long. Of
course there is a difference when measuring papers with brighteners, with
and without a UV-cut filter. That's why the UV-cut filter was designed. I
mentioned sometime back that the UV was or should be a non-issue given that
in a proofing envrionment, papers with this problem should not be used - not
just because of measurement problems with filters, etc. but because of
metameric issues (which I think Henrik mentioned in a post as well). I
differ a bit regarding "fixing the issues", however. The lack of the filter
obviously was not for technical reasons.
The i1 with the UV filter will be out the beginning of May, and the filters
will not be interchangeable as in the case of the Spectrolino - choice of i1
UV or i1 (of course unless there are any changes of opinion ;-)).
