Your "LaCie" profile is relatively small gamut and belongs to your monitor
... nothing else. I would imagine the Nikon profile is lousy for editing
with, so archive the scan with the nikon profile, but for editing &
printing, also convert it to a "working" file like AdobeRGB. Learn to
conceptually distinguish between device profiles and color spaces.
Many have commented on the Nikon profiles losing detail in the shadows,
and posterizing gradients such as skin tones. If you see this, compare with
turning Nikonscan CMS off, and assigning a working space profile instead ...
possibly EktaspaceRGB.

AdobeRGB is a respectable color space.
