1. Classic Mac OS.
2. Adobe RGB tagged Photoshop images (TIFF, PSD).
3. Placed (linked, embedded or rasterized) in Illustrator 9/10, Adobe
RGB tagged.
4. Generate PostScript with either Adobe PS 8.7.3 (Create Adobe PDF)
or LaserWriter 8 (8.7.1).
5. Run through Distiller 5.
6. And have it come out right! (viewed in Acrobat 5, not Reader)
I was wanting to create a PDF with Adobe RGB content to print from
Acrobat to profiled RGB driver ink jets.
My images in the PDF come out WAY saturated and red/magenta. The PDF
documents are tagged with something because any changes in the
Acrobat Color Settings Preferences do not change their appearance.
I like to create an Adobe Color Settings file in Photoshop and load
them into Illustrator and Distiller. When I print from Illustrator I
have tried selecting Same As Source, Adobe RGB, and various RGB
driver printer spaces. The latter because things weren't going my way.
This procedure works for me with Greyscale and CMYK spaces for
prepress. I can open them in Acrobat and soft proof them, and load
them into RIPs and send them off to printers and newspapers all day.
RGB just don't work for me!
Thanks,
Gary Smith
