I personally don't know if any commercial CMSs do/don't support
a non L*a*b* space for gamut mapping or clipping. Even if
they do, it might be hard to determine from the published
specifications. Of course I know of at least one non-commercial
CMS that does, and many research CMS have used spaces other
than L*a*b* for gamut mapping.
