Hi Group,
Does anyone know of an application that can convert a
Mac Colorsync profile to use on a PC?
I am trying to use the same profile that I use on my
Linotype Hell scanner onto a PC laptop computer.
We use a PC laptop for shooting digital images on location using
LightPhase technology. I find my profile off the scanner gives a
better density range than the profiles that LightPhase recommends (no
offence).
I don't want to use a profile like the 'Euro Offset' profile which applies
UCR - I find
it tends to leaves our digital shots looking a little flat . With the
profile off the scanner
it gives the images more depth /contrast.
I also would like to know is there any way I can use my 'Gradation ' and
'Tonal Range'
settings in Lightphase on the Mac and use them on a PC?
I have had to manipulate the settings in Lightphase so that when we use the
'Gray Balance' function when shooting in CMYK the gray balance is correct!
The 'Gray Balance' function shows only RGB values, and when you click on a
grey patch to neutralise any color casts the grey balance is correct but
for RGB only!!
When working in CMYK and after gray balancing, all our digital shots were
containing
a very blue cast, the dot percentages were also showing a blue cast when
taking readings.
By manipulating the LightPhase settings and loading these settings we are
now able to
gray balance beautifully for CMYK.
I would like to know is there a way to use the same LightPhase settings and
Colorsync profile
on the Mac for use on a PC .
Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Some of us hope to see the PC go away (far away, please), both on the

and client side in prepress -:).
