Has anyone succeeded to print absolutely neutral black & white prints
using the new EPSON 7600 or 9600 printers with UltraChrome pigmented
inks and the BEST RIP?
The RIP works very well. The problem seems to be though that none of
the profiling software we have tried so far (Gretag, Profile City,
basICColor) gives us neutral or even close to neutral profiles. Part
of the problem seems to be that EPSONs new "light black"/grey ink has
a yellow cast that the profiling software cannot compensate for. It
seems that all profiling software thinks that the black ink has to be
a neutral black and therefore profiles built with strong GCR (less
metamerism, more stable grey balance, less use of color inks) print
yellowish.
Any thoughts?
TIA
Stefan
