Since the

Appalling in most cases. Now they've gone and chipped the cartridges and
made the plastic opaque so you can't see how much ink you're throwing
away.
out of sight, out of mind, right? Most of their revenue is generated
from
consumables, and now you are more or less forced into using their
product
and replace it when they think you should (the more often the better).
Epson HAS to leave some ink in each cart. If they don't, you get air bubbles
in the heads (very bad).
The question might arise "how much ink should be left" but that really
doesn't matter. The question should be, what's the cost of the ink and how
many prints can you get? The fact that some ink is left is kind of
immaterial. The size or quantity of ink left isn't what's important but
rather what the cost is pre cart and how many prints you end up with.

Dear Andrew
I think if you re-read my small contribution to this thread you will see
that you are incorrectly attributing this to me. What I actually said,
and I take the liberty of re-posting.......
Dear Eric
A very simple solution is to weigh a full cartridge and an empty one QED

Cheers
Richard
PS Andrew...of course by empty I mean one that is just about out and not
at the stage where one is going to run into problems with air in the
line!
