Hi everyone
I've just started a new job and non of the Mac's (OS 9.2.2, PhotoShop 6, now
7, Umax PowerLook 2100XL scanners, scanning for web mainly) were colour
managed. My boss asked me to sort out the colour management as he hadn't had
time to do it since upgrading the equipment 2 months before. (i suspect he'd
never done for the old equipment either). The thing is my workflow settings
are apparently giving worse results than before I turned ColorSync on and
changed the colour settings in PhotoShop. They were "perfect" and in need of
no colour adjustment before, which I find hard to belive but I don't have
the energy nor am I paid well enough to argue.
So I've suggested we go back to where we were, ie nothing in the ColorSync
profiles boxes and auto in the CCMs and Web Graphics Default in PhotoShop.
Only I can't seem to choose an empty box in the profiles section. Short of
reinstalling OS 9.2.2 and therefore ColorSync 3.0.4 how do I get around
this?
Or is it as simple as putting them all to Generic RGB? I've downloaded
several ColorSync pdfs to read through but they want this doing asap ie
before 5 pm tonight! Or at least first thing monday morning.
I know you'll all be thinking this is an awful way to work but it's only
until we acquire professional monitor calibration tools and scanner
calibration targets and software.
Thanks in advance
Emma
