I have a challenge for someone to build a text reference file and target
tif
file that can prove how perfect a profile is. It can't be depended on rip,
printer, inkset etc.. and has to cover a reasonable gamut. This would end
the argument of what rip is better with what printer and give everyone a
standard to go by. SWOP Forga etc.. don't do it in my world of inkjet / RGB
/ HiFI / Hexachrome.
We need to set a new standard that can be used to beat on the manufacturers
that keep producing the junk we spend out hard earned money on. I would
love
to hear from the manufacturers lurking here.
Maybe a Press Proofing Version, a Photo Version, a Super High Gamut
Version.
Just Ideas.
Many of the test images I have seen have problems: Adobe CPSI Certification
Images, PMA Shootout Images, GATF etc....
Is it possible given all the combinations? There are enough of us here that
can test, measure, kill theories, and post results somewhere if we could
come up with something.
