Thank you, William.
Now it's clear! This is interesting news , as to how the LCD uses a second
matrix to represent a CRT at sRGB co-ordinates. Is this a patented process,
that will be found uniquely in NEC/Mitsubishi LCD's? Do you recommend that
for calibration/profiling to set the LCD to sRGB employing the DSP?

The processing algorithm and DSP were developed by Mitsubishi. I believe
that the technology is now licensed to other companies. You will probably
see quite a few portable projectors in the market that use this technology
for color matching and color control.
If you have the luxury of an accurate colorimeter that can measure LCDs and
software to create a good profile, and all of the applications/OSs that you
work in are color managed, then you can rely on the host system's CMM to do
everything for you. Otherwise I'd recommend setting it to sRGB and let the
monitor do the processing.
An interesting feature of this is that you can put the monitor into an
interactive mode and adjust the color settings manually. You get 6 color
controls (RGBCMY) that you can adjust the hue of each color hexant on the
color circle. Useful if you have problems matching specific colors... or
just like to fiddle with controls ;-)
