HI All
i would like to get some opinions on how everyone is handling files
supplied to them.back before we were into an ICC workflow when a customer
supplied thier files we just proofed them and colorcorrected them to look
good on our proofing conditions, sometimes it took a couple of rounds to
match.now with our ICC workflow if we recieve a file with an embedded
profile we convert to our workspace, and then our proofs match what they
are expecting.the only catch is when we recieve a file that has a profile
accidentally embedded, then it doesnt work.so we go back and assign our
workspace for to thier original file and colorcorrect to match thier
proof.
if we get files without profiles we dont colormanage them, unless the
customer asks for corrections.
so my question is should our customer be responsible for supplying a file
with a bogus profile attached and or charges incurred by correcting these
images.
basically shouldnt everyone be responsible for what they send out these
days?
John
