Hi,
Yes, will work. Is from Colorvision site:
OptiCAL 3.7.4 for Macintosh includes the following:
Changes
- support for X-Rite DTP92 USB
- support for X-Rite DTP92 Serial
- corrections to French User Guide and application text
- Admin privilege is no longer required on OS X to run the application
Fixes
- fixed a problem when using a Spyder in Precision mode where incorrect
values were reported when adjusting Black and White Luminance
- fixed a crash on launch that occurred on some systems running OS X
versions prior to 10.2

Yes, is possible. I'm not sure who was the wize guy to talking about this
first (maybe Bruce Lindblom or Henrik Homengard).
If I remember correctly, you must to take the a free colorsync utility in
OS9 and use this utility to put the needed "tag" in your custon display
profile to work properly in OS X.
Anyway, I think that your worry is alrealdy solved.

Well, is a commom wish here. :-)
Optical/Spyder (maybe Photocal) is a good choice (at least I get very good
results).

- Well II - Spyder is a good device (at least, mine) and if you alrealdy use
it, probally you have Optical or Photocal.
