There is two ways to properly capture Raw RGBs off of the 3010 that do not
require Don's CMYK method. If you save the file in the "TiffR" format you
will get a clean RGB. All color corrections and curve corrections will be
ignored except for the highlight setting. There is another way to save as a
"Tiff-RGB:, Choose Tiff-RGB as the format to save in, in the sub menu
choose "uncalibrated". We tested the TiffR method against the above channel
stripping method. The results were identical! Later we chose the
uncalibrated Tiff-RGB method which allowed for us to achieve better gray
balance and shadow detail. The machine profiles beautifully either way but
the Tiff-RGB uncalibrated method allows you to set the shadow closer to the
end point so your resulting seps are more likely to be smoother and free of
banding.
