Dye vs Pigments wearability

I have a client who uses both the Epson 10K and 9500. The Epson 10k uses the
Photodye inks and the 9500 the pigments.

While the color is gorgeous on the 10K, my client is experiencing that the
10k prints scratch easily when they mount them for their museum, where as
the 9500 prints are more durable and are less likely to scratch during their
mounting process.

What I would like to know is do the third party photo dye inks wear any
better than Epsons photodye inks?

Or this this a question for another list?
