rgb printer profiles or cmyk?

I was wondering if there is any advantage to making rgb printer profiles
over cmyk profiles when used in conjuction with BestColor. In my own testing
when I compare a rgb profile to a cmyk profile the rgb profile seems to have
a slightly larger color space. Since my final output is to epsons and Roland
Printers does anyone see a problem with this approach?
