Jeff,

The "Imation Matchprint Inkjet v2.0" is actually the same as BestColor
4.2.3, but replacing the Heidelberg CMM by Imation's own; and bundling
Imation's own source (Matchprint of various flavors) profiles.
If you consider that BestColor is at version 4.5.x, and Imation's rip might
stall a little until Kodak gets up to speed since it acquired Imation's
proofing business... The touted (how real?) advantage of Imation's "CFM" in
my opinion is not enough to balance all that.

However, making a good Matchprint profile is not an easy task. The material
tends to confuse some spectrophotometers a bit, it seems. So using Imation's
own profiles would be great.
But surprise, surprise: another case of "False ICC"; those profiles in fact
contain only propietary data usable only by their "CFM", which by the way is
no longer available as a standalone product. They are not compatible with
any other software of CMM.
I wonder when will Imation make STANDARD ICC profiles of the different
Matchprint flavors available for general consumption...
