Not one strip, but one chart. It sounds over the hill trying to sort this strip / chart stuff out, but X-Y autoscanning technology comes in two flavours, the X-Y table flavour of the SpectroScan and the X-Y feeder flavour of the iCColor. When the chart scan is initiated, the first thing the instrument does is to automatically calibrate itself on the built-in white tile.

By and large I like to watch the increasing level of automation and decreasing margin for user error.
