A quick comment regarding this, since I have a Spectrocam and have a
problem with purchasing yet another device to do just monitor profiling,
I've tried both ProveIt and ICC Display. Lately I've been favoring ICC
display as there are no subjective visual decisions to make (non with
Optical either, but no Spectrocam support) and the displays for
measuring white point and setting the RGB guns don't uselessly jump
around as ProveIt did. In fairness to ProveIt, I do not have the most
recent version.
So I just wanted to mention a thumbs up for ICC Display.
One thing that continually baffles me though, is why, with these careful
devices and this great software, why does the calibration look a bit
different depending on the software and device? And none of them seem
dead on. I'm including Optical with the Spyder in that comparison as
well, I've tried it.
Still an imperfect science I guess.
