Edmund,

I'm not an oracle (for that you'll have to talk to Mr. Knoll), but you can
accomplish this by using Convert to Profile and rendering to CMYK/RGB
(whatever color space you're profiling) for the profile you built using the
i1. Then save it out to TIFF/EPS (the printshop's choice) and shoot it on
over.

This is perfectly feasible and appropriate.
