Why isn't there instrument verification?

  • Subject: Why isn't there instrument verification?

Hi,

Could someone explain to me that while we get to use all these fancy
instruments and software to make profiles and proofs simulating offset
presses, why don't we have a 'verify or adjust by instrument' product?

I'm referring to the differences between proofs and the press sheets which
were used to make the reference profiles. I say read in the proof, load in
the measurements of the press sheet, run a compare and let the
profile-editing software take care of the difference. This would help my
customers a bunch by removing a lot or all of the difficulty (read trial +
error) in profile editing.

Wouldn't this be a reasonable thing to have or do?
