I would suggest that the lighting in the room, or lack there of is far more important. If
you are working in a darkened room the color will not matter very much. Like painting a
darkroom white which I have always done after working somewhere were someone painted
theirs black. Yikes! If the only light is a safelight then the brighter the walls the
better. since editing in subdued lighting is a good idea I would not obsess over how gray
the paint is.
