I am looking into the different hardware options offered by GretagMacbeth
and I am interested in any opinions anyone might have, regarding any of the
following :
1. EyeOne Pro.
Hand held unit, CRT + LCD monitor support, no UV filter option in current
model, and can be used as a strip reader with the help of a supplied rule.
Can also be used for spot readings, regardless of size of original.
Good for profiling on the road, but what about the UV filter issue ?
2. Spectrolino with Spectroscan.
Can be used hand held, CRT + LCD monitor support, optional UV filter,
automated strip reading with Spectroscan, and can also be used hand held for
spot readings.
This seems to be the standard, and you can set it and walk away !
3. ICColor 200 + 300.
This one's new, and can be purchased with EyeOne Monitor for CRT + LCD
profiles, and can handle automated strip reading of targets.
But, how do I use it as a spot reader ?
Do I have to be able to fit the original into the unit ?

Usable with Various Applications
Beside automatic chart measurement, the iCColor can also be used for single
spot treatment. This enhances the value of your investment: a single tool
provides solutions for all your color measurement needs, without the
requirement of additional equipment.
Thanks in advance,
Darrin.
