Care to name which "popular" packages didn't cope? Is the profiling package
you use for support of these printers ICC Colour builder, or do also work
with other profiling software that is not specifically written for Cyclone
Proofers?

I haven't worked much with the 10000CF, but in defense of the 10000 photo
dye, I've had *outstanding* stability with my dye 10K and Epson papers for
proofing. Differences in patches measured minutes after the proof is made,
and weeks later (without harsh exposure) are negligible, and certainly not
visible. Obviously, I wouldn't advocate the dye printer for museum prints,
but for prepress proofing, I've personally had great success.
I can't speak for other Dye 10K users, but in addition to proofing, I find
myself doing a fair amount of non-museum quality "presentation prints", and
I am often grateful for the flexibility of having the extra gamut.
