Wow, I guess I'm lucky! My newspaper was actually smart enough to run out
our targets on a blank form, so I get at least three blank pieces of
newsprint underneath the target.
There doesn't seem to be much of a consensus on this issue, black backing
vs. stack of paper vs. additional copies of the target. I'd think one
wouldn't be able to get an accurate white point reading with a thin paper
(like newsprint) with the back backing on the SpectroScan (or other
instrument).
