It may be the situation I'm seeing, but it doesn't really make sense with
an application like Preview.app. I would expect untagged images to have
an assumed profile that of monitor RGB. So the current display profile
would be the source, and the destination profile would be the one
registered for that device. So you'd get a conversion. But at least when
I tried this awhile back, I got the same measurement data from Preview
with an untagged target, as I did from Photoshop 6. So there must be an
off somewhere in the loop.
