Yeah, but so do EPS files for that matter. So QuarkXPress's ability to
produce proofs is limited to the same things it can color manage for
final destination.

You have to be careful about whether images have profiles embedded or
not, and you have to be careful about using the floating Profile
Information palette. If you uncheck Color Manage to RGB destinations you
get totally opposite behavior of when you uncheck Color Manage to CMYK
destinations. When you understand what they mean - the behavior makes
sense (to a totally anal retentive person), even though it's stupid and
useless in workfow.
