This sounds like an issue we've discussed here many times; how to control
the amount of ink getting to the target before making the profile. I assume
you used the "No Color Adjustment" setting to print the targets. You may
have to try other settings (potentially lose some color gamut) to get a
better target to measure in the first place. There has been a lot of posts
on various settings for various Epson printers using different papers.
Search the archives and try using some settings that might lay down less
total ink before you even read in the targets.
