I am using the save for the web feature within Golive 5 itself.
The web dialog box indicated the same file size, mas o menos, but when
I checked the size of the saved image files in the media folder of my
site, the files are bloated...3X at least. If I go back and just
de-select the ICC profile option, the file size returns to the
previous size.
To tell whether the size is increased by being compressed at a higher
quality (lower compression), I'd create several jpegs of the same
original image but saved out from Photoshop at different compression
settings, so you have a selection of jpegs from high compression to low
compression. Then put those into Golive and save each them with
profiles. If they are being recompressed, they'll all end up the same
size.
There's a Quicktime call that didn't used to work but does now,
something like GraphicsDoExportWithoutCompressing. ImageCapture used
to have this problem that embeddeding profiles caused recompression.
Now (Jaguar) the call does work, so images can be saved without
decompression/recompression.
