Including the sRGB profile should just add ~3,150 bytes to file size.
Although I use Photoshop 7, I am using the save for the web feature
within Golive 5 itself.
All my Photoshop smart objects come from tagged PSD files. I got this
bright idea that I'd have all my images look just grand on Colorsync
savvy Macs in weblandia, so I went back to each one and opened up the
smart object settings. The save for the web window opened, and I
selected the add ICC profile option and clicked save. (I maintained the
same jpg quality setting, etc.)
The web dialog box indicated the same file size, mas o menos, but when I
checked the size of the saved image files in the media folder of my
site, the files are bloated...3X at least. If I go back and just
de-select the ICC profile option, the file size returns to the previous
size.
Is this a "smart object thing" or have I missed something? Do I need to
redo all the smart objects from scratch? Or forget about them and
pre-size my my photos in Photoshop?
Thanks,
Peter A. Calvin
