And telling me where to find the ICC web page wasn't a cheap shot ?
(It certainly struck me as such !)
That sounds more like information than an attack. This list is read by
lots of users, and not all of them know that the ICC web page is
www.color.org.
Speaking for myself, anytime I attempt a helpful post I try to assume
as little knowledge as possible on the reader's part because it's
better to provide too much information than to provide too little. An
informed reader can skip the parts they already know, but to assume too
much reader knowledge in an informative post is just asking for
misunderstanding.
If somebody says "The keyboard...you know, that array of buttons that
goes clickety-clickety-clack?", that's condescending. Posting the URL
of the ICC web site on a mailing list about ColorSync and ICC profiles,
that's just information.
