Glenn,
ColorWise Pro Tools will let you send down both RGB and CMYK profiles. I'd
load CMYK profiles into the Simulation rather than the Output area, though.
I suspect that this is what you mean by loading a CMYK input profile.
The Output Profile is the copier/printer's generalized behavior. That the
calibration procedure modifies this (thus characterizing) is a good thing,
at least in my mind. Outside of any kind of process control (using
ColorMetrix for example), it's the closest you'll come to ensuring that
Output A printed July 19, 2002 matches Output A' printed July 19, 2003.
