Ok, so does this mean there is no way to load a CMYK input profile? I
thought the whole point of this RIP was to A: get it on a Mac, B:
allow complete ICC profile usage. Very disappointing and embarrassing
considering I recommended this configuration based on that--which is
what I was told at an Epson demo.
The output profile is modified during calibration. Essentially it is the
same as linearizing a profile in ProfileMaker Pro. I don't see where keeping
Simulation and Output together would do much of anything, given that
Simulation is an output profile as well.
Well that's annoying. A profile should be a profile, not a modified
one based on a calibration. Aren't we going backwards here? Why have
profiles at all if this is the case? And why pay $1000 for a RIP that
can't use them?
I'm sure David Macy will correct if I'm inaccurate anywhere, but this is how
I understand it.
Yes, I sure hope he has something to say because I am seriously
disillusioned and need to make this work before someone lights a
"Fiery Spark" under my butt! :-)
