Terry,
I'm reading your post, and seeing now what it is you're trying to do.
Is calibrating the Fiery not achieving what you want to do? It is the
calibration that ends up affecting the Output Profile (I discussed the
function of the output profile last week in greater detail on this list in a
conversation with Glenn last week; haven't heard anything one way or the
other with that yet). In a few words, the Output Profile is a profile based
on the generalized behavior of the printer in question. Calibrating
linearizes the general behavior against the particular printer's
performance.
I've had success profiling and chucking the profile in as a new output
profile.
