I have a client who is struggling with their Epson 10ks in respect to the
ink drying. When they layout their prints before putting them up in their
museum they let the 44x 100" prints cure. Originally in that process they
tried slip sheeting their large prints as they dried. They would wait 48
hours in a room with the lights on. They tried stacking the large
prints. They found the slip sheets of brown paper set off fibers from the
paper into the ink on the prints and if the light got turned off a night by
a guard ambient light from another room would strike the prints and change
the color dramatically. What a disaster.
The museum has not tried not tried using a mounting press on the photodye
10K prints, but if I was doing this type of thing to dry the ink I would be
aware of the press marring prints as heat is applied.
