Actually, matching is still accomplished using spectral data. When Monaco
software builds a profile, it keeps all the data from which the profile is
made. This means that newer versions of the software will be able to
reconstruct profiles using the original data from which the profile was
built. Additionally, we keep all of the edits performed in the
MonacoPROFILER editor. This means that, when you load a profile, you can see
the edits you have made and you can make additional edits without losing the
original data.
As a result, adding new features to the editor requires us to build new
information into the profile. Rebuilding a profile with the 4.0 engine will
not only take advantage of the updated processing algorithms, but will also
attach the new tags that will make the profile fully compatible all of the
new editor's capabilities.
You can think of every Monaco profile carrying a briefcase. This briefcase
contains the profile's complete history including the original data, output
options, and color edits (and maybe a sandwich for lunch). Anytime our
software does something new, we can always go back to the briefcase and get
the info we need to update/rebuild a profile to the latest and greatest
specifications.
Regarding the functionality of the color and gray "fine-tune" edits, both
work the same way. The main difference is that the color edits provide the
user with range-control in both hue and lightness, while the gray edits
shift only the gray-nodes in the profile (and consequently the interpolated
data between the nodes).

Yes this is what Roberto and I noticed. With all the problems of inkjets

A couple of "demo profiles" is a good idea.

Can you explain how this matching through the new motor is done? Since you
