Join the club! However, it is tough to find pity for the tireless
workings of the devout color evangelist.
We express this concept by mentioning that color temperature, i.e.
5000K, has a lightness variable, therefore, L*(a*b*) and L(CH) are
variable and dependent upon the individual capabilities of the
monitor(s). In the real world, this is why sometimes you will see two
monitors calibrated and profiled to 5000K but look different next to
each other. They were calibrated and profiled to different lightness.
Unless a common lightness was targeted, the monitors will look
different.
ColorBlind ProveIt!, Optical, ICC Display, View Open, etc all have a
method of targeting lightness.
