There must be some misunderstanding - the Scanview 11000 is not a CCD
scanner, it is a PMT drum scanner.
Some years ago when we started to scan ourselves, we compared the 11000 with
ColorQuartet to a Howtek 7500 with Trident. The reason why we have chosen
the 11000 was because of the scan interface from the ColorQuartet software.
The Howtek with the Trident software produced even a little bit better
results, but it was more a software made for cmyk scan operators than for
intuitive working photographers.
But now after years the quality of the 11000 is not good enough anymore for
my expectations and there are no really signs that things change to a better
side. Scanview was sold to Purup-Eskofot, now there is again some change in
the company policy and it seems that this is the reason that they do not
have the time to work on there products and make things better - and I'm
tiered of waiting.
So I'm still waiting on some good scanner recommendations for a alternative
to the 11000.
