Andrew,
The fact that you have a dual display system shouldn't be an issue.
Something else is afoot. The fact that Photoshop 7 isn't getting the
right profile is a big clue.
Sounds like one of three things:
1) Bad profile. Run the ColorSync Utility (in /Applications/Utilities/),
select the Profile First Aid icon, and click the Fix button.
2) Bad ColorSync cache (yes, there's one for Mac OS X, too). You can
delete the "ColorSync Cache" file that lives in the
/Users/(YourName)/Library/Preferences/ directory.
3) ColorSync devices pref is bad. Delete the
"com.apple.ColorSyncDeviceList.plist" file in the /Library/Preferences/
directory.
After doing one or more of the above, use the DISPLAY System Preference
to set the display profiles. You may want to peek back at the ColorSync
Utility and make sure the profiles are, in fact, being registered for
each of your displays. Just click on the Devices icon, and twist down
(click on) the triangle next to "Displays" in the device list.
Cheers,
John Z.

PS7 is finding a profile called "Generic RGB Display" which is wrong.
No way
of figuring out what FlexColor is using.
I go into the Display System preferences, click on Color and on the MAIN
display, I can see the Barco profile. On the 2nd display, it doesn't
show up
at all. That's odd.
When I click on the Barco profile from the main display control panel,
it
never sticks. I close and reopen and the profile always goes back to
"Generic RGB Display" which it appears is what Photoshop is using (I
see it
in my Color Settings). So the question is, why can't I get my Barco
display
profile to stick and why doesn't it show up on the 2nd display options
when
picking profiles? I can't toss the "Generic RGB" profile (owned by
Root...
That Root can really piss me off).
