Why are you using one of the worst known CMMs?

Why not use the Adobe (ACE) CMM or the Apple CMM?

No other CMM will have similar results because most other CMMs do not have
the bugs present in the Heidelberg CMM.
Dear Chris Cox,
this is not a fair statement, and please allow me to say that the aggressive
tone you are using is inappropriate and helps virtually nobody.
The Heidelberg CMM which can be found in the Mac OS goes back to the early
days of ColorSync and the cooperation between Apple and Linotype-Hell (which
later was merged in Heidelberg). For reasons which lie in the relationship
between the two companies and which I do not intend to set out here in
detail, this CMM has never been updated since then.
Just for the record it is worth mentioning that this CMM was one of the very
few, if not the only useful CMM at that time. And there was absolutely
nothing comparable from Adobe to which you might want to refer in order to
justify your offensive tone.
The best proof that the Heidelberg CMM is still rendering high quality and
works flawlessly is the fact that it has been used and is still being used
by a large community over so many years now. This proven and reliable
technology lives on in updated versions in our and our licensee's products.
This forum is not the right place for provider wars, but I feel I owed the
community a reply to your unproven statements.
As for the original question asking which CMM to use if the Heidelberg CMM
can't be used anymore, we recommend to work with Apple's ColorSync CMM on
the Mac.
