I find that ProPhotoRGB is better when used when in 16 bit mode.

The question is when I do the convert to ProPhoto.
I open my file in PS6, making sure that I have ProPhotoRGB set as my working
space, save the newly openned file without any profile embedded. Close the
file
and then reopenning the file, which will get you a missing profile dialog.
Check the last radio button and select your camera profile from the pull down
menu.
Then make sure you have the box underneath checked called 'and convert to the
workingspace'.
When your image opens the camera profile will have been converted into the
workingspace in one move.

Try both and test for yourself, but Relative should work OK.

and also what about Black Point.
Don't check BPC.
