Ulf, what do you think of the idea of using, as a "reference" profile only,
a profile that is built using 100%K limit and 400% total ink? This stems
from the idea that the press profiling target was likely run with
100%/400%TAC and that is how the reference profile should be generated.
Naturally, this profile should NOT be used in Photoshop for generating
actual separations. My reasoning for this approach is that I cannot assume
that all images/pages being sent to the BestRIP will already be limited to
something close to my CMYK separation profile that has, say, 320%TAC. In
fact, most page objects will contain CMYK values that are outside of the
parameters of my CMYK separation profile. 100%K text would be one easy
example of this. Comments?
