Have been using our implementation of colour management for a while now but
we are starting to use mixed (PC and Mac) platforms and I need some pointers:
To date we have had a Mac-only (G3s and G4s under 9.1) environment:
o Monitors calibrated and profiled using X-Rite Monitor Optimizer
o Profiles created using Praxisoft's CompassProfile
o Relatively few printers, Novajet 600Pro, Epsons, etc.
We now have an increasing number of Windows 2000 machines.
What's recommended for calibrating/profiling monitors for W2K?
Profiles produced under CompassProfile don't appear to be recognized by
Windows (though it seems to store profiles in a variety of places) and I
have put the ".icm" suffix on profiles...
Advice/guidance would be much appreciated. I'm happy to rethink existing
procedures if newer hardware/software is cross-platform.
Finally, not having crossed the OS9->OSX divide yet (too little time to
investigate), can anyone point me in the direction of information as to
what I will need to consider as and when we take on the new Mac
system. Er, I presume ColorSync *does* exist under OSX. Please tell me
it's simple...
