We sent some 16bit tifs saved in photoshop 7 and my client could not open
them in Photoshop 5.5. Does any body know the work around.
We did send the photos saved as photoshop files in 16 bit and they opened
all the 8 bit tifs opened but not the 16bit tifs
16 bit CMYK or LAB, I'll bet.
There was a bug in older versions of Photoshop - and Photoshop 7
triggers it when you save 16 bit CMYK.
We're working on a workaround/fix for that.
16 bit LAB wasn't supported in TIFF at all until the release of
Photoshop 7 - so no older version of Photoshop can read it (and most
other applications won't read it correctly because they implemented
proprietary versions of 16 bit LAB in TIFF).
In the meantime, use a format other than TIFF for 16 bit CMYK or LAB documents.
Chris
