I'm hard pressed to think of a good reason for doing this. It will
generally result in really terrible conversions, especially if you are
using an RGB Working Space with a white point higher than 5000K. White in
RGB will get mapped to a distinctly blue color in CMYK and that's how it
will print. So I would say that it's pretty bad advice.
