Separation conversions are Perceptual or Relative Colorimetric with Black
Point Compensation (: the latter only in Adobe software).
Simulation (: proofing) conversions are Relative Colorimetric without Black
Point Compensation, or Absolute Colorimetric which by definition maps the
black poing 1:1.
If you apply AC as separation conversion, you are in effect proofing the RGB
working space in the color space of your intended printing condition. The
result leads to color artificating and is quite unacceptable.
You can share the Cookbook on the ColorSync home page with your client. The
conversion from RGB working space into the color space of the intended
printing condition is shown visually and graphically.
Hope this helps.
