We are running profile maker 4.0 with the eye-1. We have created
profiles for three different printers on many different materials.
The CMYK values kicked out by Color Picker do not match the actual
pantones. We have noticed extremely close matches with most PMS
colors, except for the obvious out of gamut colors. Warm and Cool
greys are coming out extremely brown or reddish. This really worries
me because isn't this whole system dependent on its ability to show
or replicate neutral greys? I realize that warm grey is far from
neutral grey (brownish grey), but what comes off the printers is
really brown. This problem is replicated on all three of our
printers, a piezo-electric inkjet, thermal inkjet and an
electrostatic. Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do.
