The page layout application is not built for color management (Create,
by Stone Design). So I'm using ColorSync after selecting print [Color
Options>Color Correction>ColorSync].

What is used as source is not always obvious. For example TIFFany
doesn't have any obvious color controls for color management in it, but
they are using the display profile as the source profile and Default
CMYK from the ColorSync panel as destination for RGB to CMYK
conversions, and vice versa for CMYK to RGB conversions. I'm not sure
what Stone is doing. But when it comes to printing, you will need to
use print driver color management and hope the source space is being
defined by either the application, or the operating system, correctly.

I inquired with Stone Design as to how their application Create handles ColorSync. Their response:

"ColorSync is totally supported, meaning, if you use an image with a profile, Create maintains it, even in converting to other image types."
