Hans,
We have been testing the Epson 9600 producing halftone proofs onto Newsprint
paper.
Epson has done a development for the Newsprint and other thin papers. Now
users can adjust the vacuum therefore it is easier to use stock like the
Newsprint.
We have got very good results on this printer and if you are interested we
can provide you with a trial version so you can judge for yourself.
Two Colormatching options.
You have two options when producing these proofs either run with a standard
Colorsync ICC workflow or use "CMYK ink tuner" where you bypass Colorsync
and edit the color hue of individual CMYK inks numerically.
Three Colormodel options.
You can drive these printers with a CMYK (4 color) ink combination instead
of 6 or 7 colors. This saves processing time but gives good results.
You also have full control over individual ink levels and total Ink limit
control.
If you are interested contact me of forum.
