Eric,
The paper stock we have been using for halftone newsprint proofing is the
actual newsprint paper. We use the rest of the rolls from the press.
The Epson comes with adjustment kits for these rolls so they can be fitted
as a papersource on the Epson.
You should be able to use the 10600 for both kinds of proofing.
We have not tested the Newsprint proofing on the 10600 but my guess is that
it will have the same features as the 9600.
Keep in mind that if you are considering AbsoluteProof you will need an
imagesetter Rip like a Harlequin in combination with AP.
AbsoluteProof takes it source files from an imagesetter rip.
